Dear Class of 2018

Written by Christine Gill

Dear Class of 2018,

Wow. This is it. This is the time where we know that graduation is right around the corner. Four years ago around this time, we were all sitting with our eighth grade class telling each other we’d never forget each other and reflecting back on all the middle school craziness. Well now we’re doing the same thing, but this time it’s not a guarantee that 90% of our class will further our education in the same state. It’s not a guarantee that we will see each other in passing…or ever again for that matter. But there is one thing that’s guaranteed. It is guaranteed that years from now when asked about our high school experience, we will be able to remember ‘it’ and each other “like it was yesterday.” We’ll remember the first people we talked to during freshmen orientation, we’ll remember who sat at our lunch tables over the years, and we’ll remember who we would go visit in a different class during our study halls. I will remember every happy, sad, exhausting, frustrating memory this school has brought to me in my four years here. So… thank you class of 2018 for this adventurous ride we call “high school.” I couldn’t have done it without you.
