Graduation Not Goodbye

Written by Christine Gill

Dear Allie,

How do I deal with my senior friends graduating and moving away?

Dear anonymous,

This is a very sad situation.  You spend so much time with a group of friends and they end up leaving you to fend for yourself until your graduation.  Of course it’s not their fault, but it still can be very hard to get through.  To start, talk to your friends about how you’re feeling.  You can make plans to hang out more in the summer or over school breaks.  Make more friends in your grade or younger this year so that you’re not shocked when all your older friends are gone in the fall.  Staying in contact is key.  If you try these things, you will make it through.  Your friends are just starting their future, not disappearing forever.  They will miss you too.

Sincerely,

Allie
