Dominican Girls Volleyball Game, September 11th

Written by Matthew Sherlock

The girls’ volleyball team played Racine Lutheran on September 11, 2018. The team is coached by Ms. Katie O’Keef; this will be her fourth year as head coach. Ms. O’Keef’s starting lineup was Kallie Theiler at outside hitter, Maura Linn at middle hitter, Ellie Mazza at libero, Olivia Mlada at setter, Mary Parlier as the defensive specialist, Morgan Theiler at middle back, and Kate Poellmann at outside hitter. Dominican’s record going into the game was 5-5, this being their first conference game. Racine Lutheran’s record going into the game was 11-5, and 0-1 in conference games. Coach O’Keef expected a very competitive match, she also expected every point in every game to be very important. This ultimately was the outcome.

The Girls team fought hard, but unfortunately lost in three games. Although as Coach O’Keef expected every game was close. The first game being 25-20, the second game being 25-23, and the last game being 25-18. The girls played an excellent game that very easily could have gone either way, but overall our team played their hearts out and gave it their all.
