Dominican Boys Varsity Soccer Game

Written by Christine Gill

On Thursday October 18, Dominican Boys’ Varsity Soccer played St. Johns Military Academy. Both teams knew that they had to play hard because the winner of the game was heading to the Regional Finals. It was a cold day for a soccer game, but that didn’t affect either team, and they were both just focused on winning. When the game started both teams where ready for actions and for a tough match. At the end of the first half Dominican was down 4-1 to St. Johns Military Academy. Dominican wasn’t about to give up here, they figured St. Johns thought they had an easy win at this point, but not according to Dominican. Dominican battled back and tied the game 4-4. Overtime came and neither team scored in the first overtime. As second overtime game time was running out and the game was still tied. With little time left in the second over, Senior Sam Yarmulnik scored the game winning goal as Dominican went on to Beat St. Johns Military Academy 5-4 in double overtime. Big congratulations to the boys’ Soccer team on a big win, and to Senior Sam Yarmulnik as he scored all five goals for Dominican.
