The Dominican Boys volleyball team played in the regional finals game on October 30th against Marquette University High school. Marquette is the third ranked team in the state of Wisconsin, and won the state tournament last year. The winner of this game would move on to play the winner of Shorewood and Whitefish Bay, which ultimately turned out to be Whitefish Bay. Dominican had beaten a combined team of both Greenfield and Whitnall High School. Marquette had a Bye for the first week of the playoffs because they were the number one seed in the region. Going into the game Marquette expected to get an easy win because they were the better rated team. After talking to Jackson Corcoran, he expected that his team would play very well, and maybe even win. He knows that his teammates can perform at the highest level.
Dominican lost the first game, but it was very close with a score of 27-25. Marquette was able to take the second game 25-16. Dominican came back with a big win in game three 26-24. Unfortunately, Marquette won the last game 25-21. Marquette advanced to the Sectional game, and they beat Whitefish Bay in the Sectional game to advance to state. Dominican had a great season, and they showed that they are a serious threat in boy’s volleyball.
