Top 5 Favorite Pokémon of All Time

Written by Teddy Kister

I have always loved Pokémon. I have always loved collecting as many different Pokémon as I can, whether it be in the card game or the main series RPGs. There are over 800 different Pokémon, so choosing a top 5 is tough, but here is my Top 5 Favorite Pokémon.

5. Decidueye

The final evolution of the Alolan grass starter Rowlet is an awesome grass-ghost dual type. The design of this Pokémon is very cool, with it being an Robin Hood looking owl. Also, Decidueye is an archer, with its signature move being a barrage of ghost arrows. Decidueye also has high attack and special attack stats, making every attack it deals do a lot of damage. Overall, my favorite Pokémon from the Sun and Moon games.

4. Giratina

This legendary Pokémon is a ghost-dragon type, a unique typing, as Giratina is the only Pokémon with that typing. Giratina has a very epic design, with it looking like a demon. Also, as a legendary, it has very high stats, making it one of the strongest Pokémon. Its lore is also interesting, with it being the ruler of the Distortion World, a completely different dimension. Giratina is my favorite legendary Pokémon.

3. Nidoking

Nidoking is a ground-poison type Pokémon. I also use Nidoking whenever I play through generation one not only because of his epic design with an sharp horn, but also because Nidoking can learn so many strong moves that make one of the most powerful and versatile Pokémon ever.

2. Sceptile

The grass type starter from Hoenn is my favorite starter of all time. Sceptile has it all, good stats, an awesome design (that of a tree frog fighter), and a deadly signature move, leaf blade. Every single time I play through the third generation, I always make sure to choose Sceptile as my starter Pokémon.

  1. Ampharos

This electric type from Johto is my all time favorite Pokémon. I just love the design of Ampharos. It is the perfect combination of cute and tough. Not to mention Ampharos’ very high special attack stat, making electric type moves do massive damage. The lore of this Pokémon is also very interesting. People used to use its bright, glowing tail to act as a beacon to help lost people find their way back. The moveset of this Pokémon is also very good. It can learn multiple dragon type attacks as well as pretty much every strong electric type attack. For all of these reasons, Ampharos will always have a soft spot in my heart and is by far my favorite Pokémon.
