Written by Teddy Kister

When a game franchise or genre becomes incredibly popular, game companies rush to cash in on the phase. This is shown with the battle royale genre. Because of the incredible success of Fortnite and Apex Legend, many companies add battle royale modes to games in order to make some money. The amount of battle royale games that have appeared in the past year. These makes the games feel pretty much the same and make the genre boring. This also happens with game franchises. This is shown with the Call of Duty franchise. For years, Activision has released a Call of Duty game every year, making the releases less special and more mundane. Overall, oversaturation in the video game industry prevents creative game making as companies can be more focused on following trends than creating new types of games.
