Favorite Poem of the Week

Written by Braelynn Jordan

This week we have a poem from senior Paloma Romo. The poem she provided for us is from the book Milk and Honey. Rupi Kaur is Paloma’s favorite poet, so this ladies and gentleman is a true favorite poem for Paloma. Paloma wanted to share this poem with us because at a time period in her life, when she came across this poem it was expressing exactly how she felt. It also helped her get through that time period. With this poem, Paloma wanted to let you all know that you are not alone when you feel like this. Also you are not wrong for feeling the way you feel. There are others out there in the world like her that feels the same way that you feel, and like Micheal Jackson said “you’re not alone, I am here with you”. Even though poetry is something you do not read on a everyday basis, you never know how it will effect you, just like Paloma. So if you have some free time just go online and look up a poem about how you feel, or a poem that you’ve heard about. Also never feel like you have to hide your true feelings to anyone, nor let them make you feel like your true feelings are wrong. Stand up for how you feel, do not let others run you over with how you feel, because both of your feelings are important.
