Bong Joon-Ho

Written by Solo Harris

For the first time at the Oscars ever, the movie Parasite became the first foreign movie to win Best Picture. Parasite was directed by Bong Joon Ho, who thanked Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino for giving him hope and inspiration. He and the other producers also thanked their Korean audience for never giving up on them and giving them advice on how to make their movies better. Bong Joon-Ho also won best director and best original screenplay. By winning these awards, they open up new doors for international films, and more recognition for other directors. This is a new age for the Oscars.
